Disability Services

For disabled people in the UK and in Africa, IOA Consults offers the very best advice and training on access technology that will give them access to information and other resources and enable them to live more independent lives. We can also assist with fundraising for individuals and Non-government organizations and general motivation and empowerment.

To each case, we will bring personal experiences as users and trainers with prior access to fund-raising opportunities. We recognize that each case has its individual characteristics and there is no universal approach.

Ife is an experienced disability awareness trainer/consultant and has worked closely with disabled people, training them to use access technology and advising on available government schemes and technology. For his views on access technology, disability and awareness, see here.

Current and Prospective International Students

If you’re a student thinking of studying in the UK, IOA Consults can help.

We provide advice in the areas of university selection and application process; but we do not just stop there, we provide student and community life information such as accommodation, in-town and city shopping, bus routes, and nearest airports.

We also help with communicating the ideas a prospective student wants to put forth in your admission essay or proposals. Graduates are clever enough to formulate ideas, but sometimes, communicating them in the format expected in British postgraduate institutions may prove challenging for people who have grown up in other academic settings.

We use our experience, gained over several years of dealing with international students, to provide the most suitable solutions for student needs. Each student is an individual, with individual concerns, questions and skills. The key to our success is in working with the individual to achieve personally set goals.

This page contains some information which international students may find useful. The information is, unless when stated otherwise, specific to people wishing to study in the United Kingdom.

In choosing a university, a useful place to find information is the university website. You can usually get this information from a variety of sources, including search engines, or some of the other websites in this page. The university website will contain the details of the courses offered, other services, departmental information, (including contact details for academic and non-academic staff) as well as information about their international office, finance office (for payment of fees) available grants, etc.

Accommodation
University websites usually contain information on accommodation. Some also offer information on off campus accommodation. Check with your individual university. Town accommodation is often cheaper than the University's accommodation and you have access to all the facilities in the city as well. If you've decided for University accommodation, there are various prices, and you may find that the most expensive may offer much more than you need or can afford over the period. You could also check local newspapers in the city of your university. You can find their details from most search engines. Other sites include:

If you want any further information, you can either contact me, or even the University's International student's officer.
